City bans sale of synthetic marijuana

Huntington City followed the lead of numerous other Indiana cities and counties by banning the sale of K2 and other synthetic cannabinoids within the city limits.

Abbett hopes to bring leadership, stability to Huntington community

Abbett cited numerous grievances during the last 2.5 years of the Updike administration including financial instability and lack of integrity, and explained Huntington is now often portrayed as a “second-class city.”

Common Common Council sets public hearing for city service fee

Common Council may implement a city service fee to prevent further growth of the City of Huntington’s current $876,000 budget deficit. Council met Tuesday morning and scheduled a public hearing on the service fee ordinance for the next meeting which will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 11.

Mayor: Garbage to be picked up weekly

Mayor Steve Updike held a press conference Thursday afternoon to announce the City of Huntington will bring back weekly garbage pickup on a trial basis beginning May 10.
