Air quality in all 92 Indiana counties meets national standards for first time in state history

Governor Mitch Daniels today announced that air quality in all 92 Indiana counties in 2009 met all applicable federal air quality standards, the first time this has been achieved since the passage of the 1970 Clean Air Act.

Governor opts for federally run high-risk insurance pool

Governor Mitch Daniels said today in a letter to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) that Indiana will not expand the state’s high-risk insurance pool program under the option presented by the new Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

At the recommendation of the State Election Commission, the County Election Board canceled its tentatively scheduled meeting to discuss Huntington County GOP Chairman Kristopher Underwood’s inappropriately dated candidate filing form.
