Hundreds of residents attending the Huntington Heritage Days car show downtown were chased off of the streets Friday evening by a storm moving through the area.
The storm came up quickly and cleared the streets in a matter of minutes as strong winds blew dust and debris through the streets before the rain started. Vendors hurried to get their areas cleared out as the wind begin blowing over tents and rain began to fall. Several residents waited out the storm under store overhangs.
Once the front passed, there was light to moderate rain and thunder and lighting for the rest of the evening. Several county residents also experienced power outages. A message on Duke Energy’s phone indicated that power would likely be restored by 11 p.m.
The Heritage Days celebration will continue through June 20.

I hope you meant to sat June 20.
That was a test to see if anyone is reading our articles. Now that the test is complete I have corrected it. (Thanks)
