On Friday, without considering the missing candidacy on the written sign in log, without considering Cindy Klepper’s handwritten notes of who filed that day with Kris Underwood’s questionable candidacy missing, without consideration to the list released around 12:30 p.m. by the Clerk’s Office also with Underwood’s candidacy missing, without considering that County Clerk Fran Felts didn’t follow proper procedures and no affidavit accommodated the handwritten date change, without talking to the manufacturer of the stamp machine who says the error Felts claims occurred couldn’t have happened, without considering the manufacturer’s passing test results of the stamp machine, without considering the fact that the ink patterns on other forms stamped that day don’t match Felts’ story, without considering any of these things and more, County Election Board members Carmen Oswalt and Carol Groves made the bold declaration that Felts didn’t commit fraud on February 19 or on February 20 because she said that she didn’t.
And Huntington, you are going to take it!
You are going to let their declaration be the final word. You are going to sit there behind your computer or watch dancing with the stars or whatever else is on T.V. You will accept the declaration that there is no indication of fraud in the Clerk’s office. Not even one indication. None.
Why Huntington? Is it because you’re lazy? Intimidated? Indifferent? Do you like fraud in the Clerk’s office?
Whatever the reason is, you, Huntington, won’t call the Prosecutor. You won’t call the sheriff. You won’t call the state police. You won’t call the state election commission. You won’t call on the local media to actually investigate. You won’t overwhelm their phone lines. You won’t attend any meetings. You won’t speak out. You won’t hold your officials accountable. You won’t protest. You won’t raise a fuss. You won’t let your voice be heard.
You won’t do anything.
You will sit there and wait to see if anyone posts a comment on this site or another, or you will wait for another article and follow along with the next story. You will let it continue. It’s your fault Huntington. You have voted for the people in charge who have appointed the people in charge, and you won’t hold them accountable.
And it will happen again. Because you won’t do anything about it.
Or will you? I don’t think you will.
Prove me wrong Huntington. Make me, no, make yourself proud once again to be an American living here, in Huntington, Indiana with an honest government, with integrity and openness. Our hometown.
Do something different this time, Huntington.
Do something different. Don’t wait on someone else.
Do something. Please, Huntington, do something.
