Share a Scare at the Library

Huntington City-Township Public Library calls all students in grades 6 – 12 to enter their creations in the Library’s Scary Story Contest!  Entries may be one or two pages long, can be written or typed, and must be your original work.   The author’s name must be on the first page of the story, and name, address, phone number, school and grade must also be provided on a separate page.

All entries must be turned in at either branch of the Library by 5pm on Friday, October 24th, 2008. The HCTPL Main Library is located at 200 West Market Street, Huntington; and the Markle Branch Library is located at 197 East Morse Street, Markle.

Prizes will be awarded by the Friends of the Library, and stories will be judged in two divisions:  Division I, 6th – 8th grade, and Division II, 9th – 12th grade.  Judging will be completed and winners notified by Thursday, October 30th.  All entries will become the property of the Library, and the winning stories will become a permanent part of the Library’s collection.  All stories will be on display at the Library during the Haunt the Library Halloween Party for teens at 6:30 pm on October 30th.
