Northeast Indiana Emergency Vehicle Show and Expo is a show that is dedicated to the men and women who are known as “first responders”! They are men and women who respond to incidents within your community and around the country. They have chosen jobs in the area of law enforcement, fire fighting, medics, and search and rescue teams. Paid and volunteers and many other people that work behind the scene, that are involved in taking care of our needs when disasters hit. It is their efforts and their equipment that keep us safe every day. At this show you will see publicly and privately owned emergency vehicles from fire trucks, police cars and ambulances, tow trucks, military vehicles and specialty vehicles. These vehicles will be on display at Hires Park in Huntington, Indiana on Saturday September 13th. This is a family event with something for everyone.
The day will start out with a 5-K run/walk fund raiser for Huntington County Rescue. The registration for this event will start at 7 am with the race starting at 8 am at Heritage Hall. The Emergency Vehicle Show & Expo will start at 10 am with the Fort Wayne City Police Pipe and Drum Corp providing music for the opening ceremonies. There will be participation by numerous public safety agencies such as the Huntington City Fire Department, who will demonstrate their new 100 foot aerial truck. They will also have on hand their smoke trailer for live demonstrations on what to do if you have a fire in your home and their flash over trailer for an end of the day fire suppression demonstration. Huntington County Emergency Management will have their new command trailer on site for everyone to take a tour of, plus several of their specialty vehicles on display. Allen County E.R.T. entry team will be demonstrating high stress entry techniques. You will see K-9 handlers from several different police agencies demonstrate the teamwork it takes between the handler and the K-9, to successfully use their dogs. Parkview Huntington Hospital will have Samaritan air ambulance at the show for everyone to checkout.
There will be several special attractions such as “Silly Willy” & “Lil Squirt”. These trucks were built by Wildfire Manufacturing located in Auburn, Indiana. President of Wildfire Manufacturing, Jeff Cook, is also the designer and fabricator of all of his fire fighting vehicles. For the kids ages from 3 years to 6 years there will be pedal car races and for entertainment live water ball competition between different emergency service provider departments with the winner getting $200.00.

We are looking for ten teams to participate in a Subway Sandwich eating contest, sponsored by Subway of Huntington. There will be 10 teams made up of five people each. The team will have a 6 ft. sub to put away. The first one done is the winner. Get your team registered now! By contacting Sgt. There will be several manufactures, dealers and vendors on-site displaying their products. Food vendors will also be at the show with delicious foods for purchase. Bring your family and enjoy a picnic in the park. Again this event is free to the public and to all civic and governmental agencies who wish to represent their department by displaying one or even a couple of their vehicles in the show. If you would like to have a display booth at the show, please let us know and we can get you the information you need.
If you wish to enter your vehicle in the show competition for awards, there is a fee of $10.00 to show your vehicle. The first 200 vehicles registered will receive an N.E.I.E.V.S. dash plaque. There will be awards in the following categories; police vehicle, fire truck, ambulance, tow trucks, military vehicle and specialty vehicles. We will also have special awards to be handed out at the show for “public choice” and the “furthest privately owned” vehicle brought to the show and the oldest show vehicle. Show competition vehicle registration begins at 8 am with the show to begin at 10 am and run till 4 pm. Activities will be going on throughout the day with the show concluding with a lights and siren parade running through the city of Huntington.
